Newport High School Sunday Services Update: October 11th, 18th and 25th services have been canceled. Please watch the video update and read the communication letter below for more information.

Dear Real Life Family,

I am grateful that our God is in control.

If this year has taught me anything, it is that there is only one rock on which to build the foundation of our lives. Everything else will be shaken when the storm comes.

I thank you for your commitment to His church.

Just in case you are keeping score, since March we have had: 10 online only worship services (recorded from four different locations), 11 evening services at House of the Lord, 2 services in the Blanchard park, and 6 services at Newport High School where masks are required.

Through all of this, God is faithfully growing His church and teaching us to depend on Him, because not much else is going to stand firm.

I am writing this letter to keep you informed about what is going on within our church and how our leadership is responding.

This week we were notified that three people from our church tested positive for COVID-19. Two of the positive tests were from the same household. One of the three people did attend our Sunday service. This person had shown no symptoms prior to attending the Sunday service and was careful to follow our safety protocols (distancing and mask wearing). Those who were in the nearest proximity to this person have been personally contacted.

Even though all safety guidelines were followed, we feel the need to exercise the highest level of caution to prevent any further spread.

The leadership of Real Life Newport has decided to:

• Cancel live services at Newport High School on October 11 and October 18

• Cancel all small group meetings

• Suspend all regular office hours

On October 19th we will reassess the situation and determine what, if any, additional steps need to be taken.

We will not move forward with regular meetings until we can reasonable assure the safety of our congregation.

We knew that this virus would eventually hit us close to home. Months ago, our leadership had discussed and created a plan of communication and action for this day. I wish I could say this is the only time that plan will be enacted, but it likely is not. We must remain prepared in this world of change.

We will proceed with an online service that will be broadcast live on our YouTube channel. Online giving remains available on our website:

Thank you for your grace, mercy and adaptability,

Jared Horton

SMALL GROUPS are a key aspect of our church community.  Most meet weekly in the home of a group member.  We try to keep them limited to about 12 people.  If you can't find an open group, please let us know!
