August 19, 2020
Hello Real Life Family!
It has been one month since our last letter to you and I want to encourage you with some updates about how we are moving forward as a church. First, I want to remind you of a Biblical reality:
“The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it.” Psalm 24:1
This week, I needed the reminder that this is God’s world. The things that seem out of control are not a surprise to God. He isn’t in Heaven wringing his hands and worrying about the things that we are worrying about. I know that when I trust the God who is in control, things will turn out for His ultimate glory. This is God’s creation.
Church at Wyatt’s Park
Once again, we are holding our Sunday service in Wyatt’s park in Blanchard, ID. This Sunday, August 23, at 10:00 a.m. We request that you bring your own seating and a picnic lunch for you and your family. You may also want to bring an umbrella or an awning because last time it was very sunny and there wasn’t very much seating in the shade. Please note that there will not be a Sunday night service at House of the Lord this weekend.
What is next?
Many people have been asking about our next steps about where we will meet for Sunday services. We have been in communication with Newport High School about resuming services on Sunday mornings. Our leadership has prayerfully considered this as well as many other alternatives. We have decided to resume Sunday morning worship at 10:00 a.m. at Newport High School starting August 30, 2020. There will be some additional guidelines placed upon us as we take this step. All schools in the state of Washington require masks to be worn and social distancing while on school grounds. These expectations will also apply to Real Life Newport. Returning to NHS allows us to resume children’s outreach and ministry, resume Sunday morning worship, and step back into the middle of our mission field and live out the Gospel.
Masks are uncomfortable for all of us. However, the mission God has given us as a church has always been greater than our personal comfort. We understand that some within our congregation may have a medical condition that prevent them from safely wearing a mask. If this applies to you, please contact the church office for direction.
We understand that this topic has been a hot-button topic in our world. If you have any questions, ideas, or communication, please contact Jared or the church office (contact information below).
There are a number of other events happening that we want you to be aware of:
We still have some backpacks left over from Community Week. If you know of anyone who needs a backpack with school supplies, we would love to help out.
We are in need of children’s volunteers as we re-launch our children’s ministry. If you are interested, please contact the church office.
We are hosting a week of prayer August 23-30. Please watch the website for more information.
Life Groups will be launching in September. Join today!
The Real Life Recovery Group is meeting on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at the church office.
Our men’s and women’s Bible studies are meeting on Wednesday mornings.
For more information about connecting in these ministries, please go to our website (www.reallifenewport.com) or contact the office (509) 447-2164.
